With his sense of justice, Jan Hummelink sees opportunities in the legal world to make his valuable contribution. After completing his Master’s degree in Private Law, he exchanged the fun city of Groningen for the vibrant city of Amsterdam. As a junior legal counsel, he has clear goals in mind and you can always count on his direct and honest communication.
“For me, there is tremendous value in determination and honesty. Only naming problems ahead does not help you move forward, actually taking action and the satisfaction you get from that is what drives me. In addition, it is nice if you can be open with one another and can share the right information. I am someone who will always checks everything twice.”
Where his specialism lies in contract and corporate law at the moment, this does not mean that his legal interest stops there. Jan would like to broaden his knowledge in labor and real estate law. Jan: “The opportunity to develop my knowledge of other legal fields also gives me the space to find out where my legal passion really lies, and what suits me best. That bit of freedom is nice. After I had started at Halsten, it immediately felt as if I had been here for a while. You notice that it’s a close-knit team that is ready to help you on your way.”
